Today I got a haircut. It is literally the first haircut I have had in 6 months at least. As you can imagine I was super excited to be by myself getting my hair washed, cut and "did". I made an appointment with a sweet girl named Amy. She owns a new salon in town but used to work at another one that I had been to one fateful day. I had been to that salon in desperation after getting a HORRIBLE haircut at a different salon. Amy was not the one that helped me but I guess she was working the day I went. As I sat down in the chair I told Amy that it has been "months" since my last haircut. Then she asked the question that I was so hoping she wouldn't. "How many months has it been?" Like a child that is about to be scolded I drop my head and tell her at least 6. Then I very defensively tell her the reason I have waited so long to get it cut. Story is...I had gotten a HORRIBLE haircut at a salon in town then had to get it cut for the SECOND time that day to "fix" the first cut. I proceeded to tell her all the girl could do was chop it all off in order to repair the damage.
She starts smiling and shaking her head and said...I kid you not..."Ooooohhhhh yeah! I remember your face now!!! Girl, I have told so many people about that jacked-up haircut!!!!" She then turns to another girl that works at her salon and says, "Do you remember her? Remember she came in with that HORRIBLE cut from ____?" The girl drops what she is doing and comes over while saying "Oh my gosh! I do remember that!! But your hair has grown out so much since you had to get it chopped off." My stylist then shakes her head again saying "I really could not believe how bad that haircut was. I tell people about it all the time."
Yeah...that's me. The only fame I will know concerns a really, REALLY bad haircut.
On the up side...I have DEFINITELY found a keeper with Amy!!!! She is so funny and gave me a great cut today! Thanks Ms. Mel for telling me about her!!
