Sometimes a song just sticks with you.

Just thought I would record a sweet little story that happened today. 

You know, everyone has those songs that have just stuck with you along the years.  it can be for all sorts of reasons.  but never did I ever think the "skinnamarink" song would be one of those. Yes, i remember singing it as a child but that is different.  You know the one i am talking about, right?  Just in case you don't, here are the lyrics...

I love you.

I love you in the morning

And in the afternoon,

The difference is that I TOTALLY thought it was "Skidamarink-y dinky dink, skidamarinky-doo". And yes, just in case you were wondering I am that girl that sings words to a song and then finds out that wasn't at all what it said. Anywho...

Bunny was helping me in my sewing room today while Little Man was taking a nap. She starts singing "skidamarink a dink a dink, skidamarink a doo". So I joined her and started singing with her. I think she was surprised that I knew it. : ). She just laughed and kept singing. She stopped to say something to me about what we were doing. Then she started singing again but instead of singing "I love you" part of the song she said "I love Mommy". She then looked up at me with those big brown eyes to see if I had heard her. She got the BIGGEST smile on her face when she realized that it made my heart so happy. That girl is precious. Precious. I don't think I will ever hear or sing that song the same ever again.  That is one that will stick with me. Love. That. Girl.
