Copy Cat and one tiny milestone

One more thing checked off the list...

Little Man LOVES trains right now.  I have been looking for something to put on the walls in his bedroom for a long time.  Okay, since before He was born.  So...when this love of trains began I began searching for cute ideas to bring some trains into his room.  Soooo...here is what I found...

SUPER cute, right?  I loved them.  They look like watercolors.  So CUTE!!!  The unfortunate part was that they came from Restoration Hardware and each picture was $65 I think maybe more.  So...me being the thrifty person I am decided that I could copy this and do my own for a lot less.  Surprisingly I scoured the internet looking for profile pictures of individual train cars and couldn't find much.  Back-up plan...look at the library.  I found a book of toy/model trains that had TONS of profile pictures.  I scanned them into our computer and started my intro to Photoshop.  I had never used Photoshop before.  I am a complete beginner that probably knows 1% of what it can do but I am learning none the less.  Also, there is a never ending supply of videos/tutorials online to show different ways to edit, etc.  I found a tutorial on how to change a picture to look like a watercolor.  So that is what I did.  I printed them all on Matte 8x10 paper, found 12 mats that were on clearance at Hobby Lobby ($1) and spray painted them orange, found 12 $5 frames at Walmart and viola!  Each picture may have cost $8 total.  Lots better than $65 each.  I have been trying to get all the supplies together since December.  Long story short some of the pictures have been up in Little Man's room but not all of them until this week!

When it was all done and up Little Man said "WOW!"  So...One more thing checked off!  YEA!!!

Also...Completely random but as I was waiting to drop Bunny off at school today she tell me that she can whistle like the wind.  Now, she has been trying to whistle for a LONG time.  She just wanted to learn so badly but hasn't been able to get it yet.  But this morning in the car she puckers up and whistles like she had been doing it for years.  So, YEA for Bunny whistling today!  That is a milestone, right?
