After a good two weeks of being MIA, I am back! I am so very excited to FINALLY have curtains up in our front two rooms!!!! I have worked so hard and so long to get these curtains done. They were (in my opinion) a great idea but took forever. BUT...seeing them up (thanks to Daddy Dearest, love you babe) made (as my Mother in Law said) "worth every stitch". I painted these two rooms in August of last year. Since then I have been thinking about curtains for both of the rooms. And if you didn't know this about me yet, decisions like this take me a long time. I just get something in my head of what I want it to look like and then nothing else will do. But my thing is, I also want a good price on it. So...I found the taupe fabric marked down at a fabric store. But then had to track down some additional yardage elsewhere. THAT took a long time! Then I found the burnt orange/rust color for $5.99 a yard at another fabric store. Then found the "Pearl" fabric at yet another fabric store for approximately 1/2 of the retail price. YEA! And since I made them, I didn't have to pay $$$ for them to actually be made. Sooooo, here they are...
While in the last stages of making the curtains Little Man got Croup. Yes. SUPER fun! He had that signature cough and yucky nose but still wanted to play. UNTIL...he was put on steroids. THAT...NOT so fun. I have never had one of the kids be put on steroids before this. I had heard from friends some of the side effects but had never seen it first hand. For pretty much two and a half days Little Man cried. He was mad and aggravated at pretty much everything. He would ask for something, I would give it to him and he would just say "nooooo". Time. After. Time. The good news is that the steroids made him better and it is behind us now. : ) So there you have it. I have made curtains, nursed a sweet (despite the steroids) little boy back to health and finished curtains in the last couple of weeks. I have been a bit busy. And that is why I haven't been blogging. But...now I am back!
