Plans go to the potty...

This is a bit late since Bunny has been using the potty for over a month now but I thought I needed to post it anyway...

Daddy Dearest often comments about the fact that I am a planner.  I think it is just the difference in Me (a woman) and Him (a man).  I don't have every minute of every day planned by any means but I do like to know what we are going to do on the weekend and what the week holds for us.  So, as you can guess, potty training was no different.  I read the "Potty Train in a Day" book and began planning our "Potty Party".  I got the baby doll that tee-tees in the potty, the panties, the stickers, the sticker chart, the streamers, the snacks and the drinks and was thinking Bunny and I would have a fun filled day of potty training at the beginning of October.  Now, let me stop right here and tell you that I would have LOVED to have had a potty trained child at the end of one day but I did NOT expect that at all.  I knew it was going to be a work in progress.  That being said, I just wanted to get the ball rolling after Bunny became used to school and her teachers.  Well...you know what they say about the best made plans, right?

Daddy Dearest and I were getting the kids ready for bed after returning home from a football game Labor Day weekend.  I asked Bunny to sit on the potty (as I had been doing at night for weeks).  This time she Tee-Teed in the potty!!!!  I was BLOWN AWAY!!!!!  So...I thought, no time like the present.  We aren't going to wait any longer for our potty party.  We were going to do it that weekend.  Bunny did FABULOUS!!!!!!!  Here she is in her big girl panties for the very first time...

Bunny LOVES stickers, so she received a Strawberry Shortcake sticker after sitting on the potty and after using the potty.  Here she is putting her stickers on her sticker chart.  Bunny also loves ice-cream.  Her reward after filling up the chart for using the potty successfully was get ice-cream.  She also received a "pink cookie" (a pink wafer) after she went to the potty each time.  That helped a ton!
She did GREAT!!!!  It took a few days to fill up the chart but she did it!  She was SOOO very excited to get her ice-cream!!!

Here it is a month and a half later.  We are still working on getting to the potty every time.  Not an easy task to teach or to learn to go to the potty like a "big girl".  But she and I are learning how to teach/learn together.  I am quickly learning how to plan for the best (she makes that easy) but prepare (the diaper bag with extra panties and clothes) for the worst.  Because I had NO IDEA accidents could be so bad.  I will save those stories for another time though.  : )
